Community Health Centers across the country rely on government funding to stay up and running. These centers provide primary care and help people access services in their community. Healthcare providers rely on three federal grants that will expire this year. On Tuesday, the CEO of HealthPoint, Tom Trompeter spoke before the Senate’s health committee in Washington D.C. to encourage them to keep funding the grants.
Tom notes that the grants help health organizations provide a variety of care services to their patients that communities might not be able to access otherwise. The funding also goes toward training new providers and staffing clinics. Federal funding is crucial for keeping primary care networks available in your community.
